Liz Vadas – Practice Owner and Physiotherapist
Since graduating in South Africa in 1997, Liz has many years of experience treating children, adolescents, adults and the elderly in both Australia and South Africa. After moving to Sydney in 2001, Liz became the owner of Newport Physiotherapy in June 2002.
Liz has completed many post graduate physiotherapy courses focusing on musculoskeletal and sports injuries. Liz is also trained in Cycling Biomechanics, which includes a full bike setup along with a musculoskeletal assessment whereby adjustments are then made to optimise performance.
Outside of the practice Liz has provided team physio services for the Newport Rugby Club for 4 years as well as having done work with the Springboks and a number of amateur rugby clubs in South Africa.
Liz participates actively in sport herself, triathlon being her main focus over the past 6 years. Liz is a sponsor of Warringah Triathlon Club and a member of Newport Surf Lifesaving Club.
John Delahunty – Physiotherapist
John Delahunty is an associate of Newport Physiotherapy and works Monday through to Friday. Originally from Sydney, John graduated at Griffith University on the Gold Coast with a double degree – Bachelor of Physiotherapy and Bachelor of Exercise Science. During the course of his study, he attained the Griffith Award for Academic Excellence. He is a member of the Australian Physiotherapy Association (APA) and has been since he was a student.
Prior to joining Newport Physiotherapy, John worked for a sports physiotherapy practice in Brisbane looking after local American Football, Aussie Rules and Rugby League teams, including the East Brisbane Tigers QRL team and elite junior representative teams.
While at university John also worked as a member of the Burleigh Bears sports medicine team, and while having special interest in sporting injuries, John also enjoys generalised practice. John is an enthusiastic exerciser and participates in local ocean swims, and triathlons as well being a keen surfer. |
